A new COVID 19-related death is reported in hard hit Hopkins County.
On its Facebook page Thursday, the Hopkins County Health Department said the county’s death toll had risen to 31.
On Wednesday, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear said one of the victims in the county was a nine-month-old baby.
Beshear said the death shows how dangerous the coronavirus is for all ages.
Hopkins County has reported 221 COVID-19 cases and 181 recoveries.
The Warrick County Health Department has reported a 29th death. All but three of the deaths involved people in long term care facilities.
The state of Indiana reported 20 new coronavirus deaths on Thursday, raising the official death toll to 2,052.
The number of probable COVID-19 deaths rose to 179.
No new COVID deaths were reported in Vanderburgh, Gibson, or Posey counties.
The Green River Health District reported 10 new cases in its seven-county region, half of them in Daviess County.
