After finishing up their senior year online, local high school graduates will be honored Thursday – also online.

On its Facebook page, the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation says it will host virtual class day celebrations to highlight the accomplishments of local graduates.

The annual event recognizes students' awards and college scholarships, but this year it’s happening online due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The event will stream on the EVSC Facebook page and then be posted on YouTube for later viewing.

The EVSC says the live stream for Bosse High School graduates starts at 4:00 Thursday afternoon, followed by Central at 4:45, Harrison at 5:30, New Tech Institute at 6:15, North High School at 7:00, and Reitz at 7:45.

The schools are planning in-person commencement ceremonies for all graduates in July, if possible.
