8th COVID Death Reported at Hamilton Pointe; Vanderburgh Cases Top 200

Another resident of the Hamilton Pointe nursing home in Newburgh has died of COVID 19. 

Warrick County Coroner Sarah Seaton said the 8th resident from the Village of Hamilton Pointe to die from the coronavirus was an 83-year-old man.

Seaton said he died Thursday.

The fatality raises the Warrick County death toll to 24, including 12 residents from Signature Healthcare in Newburgh.

The latest numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health show Vanderburgh County has surpassed 200 confirmed COVID cases – up to 201.

The Vanderburgh death toll held at two.

16 positive cases have been reported in Posey County and nine in Gibson County. No COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in Posey or Gibson counties.

Indiana’s death toll rose by 42 to 1,550.
