Man Facing Felony Charges Over Weedeater Incident

vanderburghsheriff.com

A Vanderburgh County man is facing charges for attacking his neighbor with a weedeater during a dispute over grass clippings.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department, the incident began just before noon Thursday when a man took exception to his neighbor spraying weed clippings from a ditch onto the street that separated their properties in the 8000 block of Spry Road on Evansville’s far southeast side.

In a release, sheriff’s officials say Russell Roth took his riding lawnmower out on the road and blew the clippings back in the ditch. That’s when 48-year-old Gail Eugene Kammerer III allegedly attacked Roth with the weedeater, causing several cuts to his back.

Roth refused treatment for his wounds. He was cited for Provacation. Kammerer was arrested for battery with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony.. As of Thursday evening, he was listed as an inmate in the Vanderburgh County Jail with no bond set.
