Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties, while Indiana’s death toll climbs.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported 10 new cases in Vanderburgh County on Wednesday, raising the total to 163.
The state reports 2 deaths in Vanderburgh County, but local health director Joe Gries says the second fatality should be attributed to Warrick County.
The state puts the Warrick death toll at 18, out of 110 confirmed cases.
The state’s dashboard says Posey County’s number of confirmed cases rose to 14, while Gibson County held at 7.
No deaths have been attributed to COVID 19 in either of those counties.
The statewide death toll rose by 51 to 1264.
New cases across Indiana rose by more than 860, raising the total to nearly 22,000.
More than 120,000 people have been tested in the state.
