The Vanderburgh County Health Department says the county’s COVID-19 death toll is holding at one.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported a second Vanderburgh County death Tuesday, but County Health Director Joe Gries told WNIN that the death was actually a resident of another county.
Gries said the state will likely correct the total in Wednesday’s report.
The state agency says the statewide death toll has risen above 1200 with 62 new coronavirus-related deaths.
The state reported more than 500 new confirmed cases, raising the total above 21,000.
Warrick County’s death toll held at 18.
No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Posey or Gibson counties.
