Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear gave a timeline for re-opening some businesses in the state Wednesday.
During his daily briefing, Governor Beshear said that May 11 is the date when businesses such as manufacturing can re-open if they have measures in place to ensure proper distancing and other COVID-19 prevention measures. On Facebook Live, Beshear announced that Churchill Downs can also reopen on May 11.
“There will be no fans for racing. And I will tell you that this is one of the most detailed plans that we have seen about specific security checks, everybody has to be temperature checked, to masking, to having a very limited group that is there.”
Retail and churches can re-open on May 20. Some businesses that are not part of the initial roll out include restaurants, gyms, movie theaters and day cares.
