Toyota is delaying its reopening another week.
The automaker says it’s postponing the ramp-up of its North American manufacturing operations – including the plant in Gibson County – until the week of May 11th.
In a release, the company said it made the decision based on an extensive review of its supplier and logistics network,
Toyota said it intends to gradually resume its manufacturing while complying with federal health and safety guidelines, state laws, and local ordinances.
The company said the health and safety of its employees and stakeholders remain a top priority.
Toyota said it has implemented new protocols at all of its North American plants to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
The Princeton plant has been shut down since March 23rd.
