No new COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Southwestern Indiana, but the statewide toll continues to climb.
The latest report from the Indiana State Department of Health shows five new confirmed cases in Vanderburgh County, raising the county’s number to 131.
Four new cases have been reported in Warrick County, raising its total to 88.
Warrick County has seen 14 coronavirus-related deaths, 12 of them from Signature Healthcare in Newburgh.
Vanderburgh County’s death toll held at one.
No new cases were reported in Gibson or Posey counties.
Statewide, the death toll is approaching 1,000.
The health department reported 63 new fatalities on Wednesday, increasing the state’s toll to 964.
Governor Holcomb has hinted as easing some pandemic restrictions this week.
