The number of COVID-related deaths continues to surge in Hopkins County, Kentucky.
Officials report 21 Hopkins County residents have lost their lives, as the number of confirmed cases nears 200.
Health Department Director Denise Beach updated the community during an online conference Tuesday…
"Hopkins County currently has 195 cases of COVID-19. We still have 21 deaths and we still have 74 people who gave recovered from COVID-19."
Beach said some people who have tested positive in Hopkins County left home to shop…
"Several of these in the community were totally asymptomatic, also. Therefore, remember to wear your masks, do not touch your face, stay six feet away from others, And wash your hands and use hand sanitizers as soon as possible when you exit a retail establishment."
The Kentucky Department of Public Health says 157 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Daviess County, with 49 cases in Henderson County.
No new deaths were reported in either county.
