The number of COVID 19-related deaths has surged in Hopkins County.
The Kentucky Department of Public Health reported Friday that Hopkins County has now recorded 17 deaths.
At least ten of those fatalities were from Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehabilitation in Madisonville.
The commonwealth said Hopkins County’s number of confirmed cases stands at 157. The county’s population is just over 46,000.
The state’s health department said the number of confirmed cases in Henderson County was up to 40, with one previously-reported death.
Daviess County has recorded 133 confirmed cases and three deaths.
