City of Evansville Seeking Comment on HUD Money
The City of Evansville is seeking public comment on how to best use federal money for residents on the brink of homelessness.
The 2020 Cares Act has allocated more than $790,000 that the city says is largely intended to mitigate housing instability during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The city says the money constitutes a Substantial Amendment to Evansville’s 2019 Action Plan.
In a release, the city said the Department of Housing and Urban Development has allowed Evansville to streamline its requirements for public notice, public comment, and public hearing.
The City is using HUD’s 5-day comment period.
Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments to the Department of Metropolitan Development at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The comment period will last until 4:00 P.M. Monday.
The city says all comments will be considered.
