The City of Evansville is seeking public comment on how to best use federal money for residents on the brink of homelessness.
The 2020 Cares Act has allocated more than $790,000 that the city says is largely intended to mitigate housing instability during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The city says the money constitutes a Substantial Amendment to Evansville’s 2019 Action Plan.
In a release, the city said the Department of Housing and Urban Development has allowed Evansville to streamline its requirements for public notice, public comment, and public hearing.
The City is using HUD’s 5-day comment period.
Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments to the Department of Metropolitan Development at kkjackson@evansville.in.gov.
The comment period will last until 4:00 P.M. Monday.
The city says all comments will be considered.
