The COVID-19 death toll from a Newburgh nursing home is up to nine.
By the end of the day Tuesday, Signature HealthCARE had reported four new coronavirus-related deaths.
In a release, Signature spokeswoman Ann Bowdan Wilder said each loss of life iwa devastating. She described each resident as family.
The nursing home reported 28 of its residents tested positive for the coronavirus, with 24 in the facility’s COVID-19 unit and four in the hospital.
Signature is now reporting nine staff members who have tested positive. They won’t return to work without verified medical clearance.
Wilder said some of Signatures’s new positive numbers surfaced after a re-test was conducted.
She said the facility is working with the Warrick County Health Department and other city and county agencies.
