Local COVID Cases Rise; IN Deaths Top 500

The number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties, as Indiana surpasses another grim milestone. 

The Indiana State Department of Health reported Friday the number of confirmed cases in Vanderburgh County rose by 5 to 76.

Warrick County cases rose 2 to 53. Posey and Gibson counties held steady.

No new COVID 19-related deaths were reported in southwest Indiana but statewide, the department reported 41 new deaths -- sending the total above 500.

In addition to the 519 deaths, the agency reported more than 600 new confirmed cases.

The number of confirmed cases in Indiana has topped 10,000 out of nearly 55,000 people tested.
