Local COVID Cases Rise, IN Death Toll Spikes

More confirmed cases of COVID-19 are reported in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties, while the statewide death toll rises.  

Vanderburgh County Health Director Joe Gries tells WNIN that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases has risen to 65.

Gries said the updated number includes four cases were added Tuesday.

No new deaths were reported in Vanderburgh County.

The Indiana State Department of Health reported the number of confirmed cases in Warrick County rose by 1 to 39.

No new cases were reported in Gibson or Posey counties.

The state agency reported 37 more coronavirus-related deaths across Indiana, raising the overall toll to 387.

The number of confirmed cases statewide rose beyond 8,500.

The agency said more than 46,000 people have been tested in the Hoosier state.

Essential workers with COVID-19 symptoms can get tested for the virus at the CK Newsome Center in Downtown Evansville.
