From a carefully planned and choreographed mega drive-in service at Eastland Mall, to large churches like Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Evansville, to small congregations, like the Fresh Air Community of Faith, WNIN sampled local online and social media Easter services Sunday.
Churches closed by strict social distancing measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus observed the holiday online and on Facebook Live. Communion was bring your own and the altar call was done by text or in an online chat room.
The Jewish community is holding Passover observances on social media as well this week. The Muslim observance of Ramadan will also take place during strict pandemic measures, starting April 23rd.
