The Vincennes area is cleaning up after a line of severe storms rolled through Wednesday night.

Hundreds of people remained without electricity Thursday morning following the storms that damaged buildings, toppled trees, and pulled down power lines.

In a release, Vincennes University reported major roof and structural damage to one of its residential halls.

There were no students inside.

VU also reported street signs down and minor roof damage to other buildings.

No injuries were reported.

The storms weakened by the time the line reached the Evansville area.

The National Weather Service recorded a wind gust of 55 miles an hour at Evansville Regional Airport just before 9 p.m., but no rain.
