No Warrick COVID Case After All; IN COVID Death Toll Up to 14

File

It turns out Warrick County does not have a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Warrick County Commissioners said the case was in fact from Daviess County, Kentucky, but the patient was tested by Deaconess -- which operates its Gateway hospital in Warrick County.

The Indiana State Department of Health reported the case on Tuesday.

Warrick Health Officer Aaron Franz told the Courier and Press that Deaconess is the main handling unit for COVID-19 testing in the area, so some cases come through Warrick County that don’t originate there.

As of Wednesday morning, the state reported one case in Vanderburgh County, two in Gibson County, one in Dubois County, and none so far in Posey or Pike counties.

The statewide death toll rose by 2 to 14. The number of cases rose more than 100 to 477.

The department of health said more than 3300 people had been tested in Indiana.
