The coronavirus outbreak has prompted a major Evansville employer to re-prioritize its production.
Berry Global says it already boosted its health care production at its Chinese facilities in response to the increased demand for coronavirus prevention.
Now, the company says it has responded to increased demand across North America and Europe.
In a release, Berry says it has shifted its U.S. capacity to supply maximum output of materials for disinfectant wipes and face masks.
In Europe, the company says its production lines are running around the clock to produce materials for masks and other healthcare applications, including materials used in blood filtration.
Berry Chairman and CEO Tom Salmon said the company is proud to be a part of the fight against COVID 19.
He said plastics are a “critical component.”
