West Side Bridge to Close for Six Weeks

File

Officials say a bridge on Evansville’s West Side will be closed for six weeks.

The county says crews will shut down the Columbia–Delaware Street Bridge for concrete patching.

The work is associated with ongoing repairs on the piers under the bridge.

The closure is expected to start Monday, with the six-week duration subject to change depending on the weather.

In a release, the county says the detour route will be Fulton Avenue, Franklin Street, and St. Joseph Avenue.

The Columbia-Delaware span is one of three bridges that carry traffic over Pigeon Creek and the main CSX rail line on Evansville’s West Side.
