Methodist Health in Henderson will officially become part of Evansville-based Deaconess Health.
In a release, Deaconess officials said Methodist will join Deaconess Health System July 1st, following an agreement between the two systems’ boards of directors.
Methodist Health's current leader is former Deaconess CEO and President Linda White.
In the release, she called it “a historic day for Methodist Health, for Deaconess, and for the communities in Henderson, Union and Webster counties.
The news comes just days after Methodist cut 21 jobs at the Henderson hospital.
White said Methodist lost $3 million dollars in the last three months of 2019. She called that “not sustainable.”
White said the agreement will create a “new direction” for Methodist.
She called Deaconess “the best choice for providing local direction and quality care.”
