A flu outbreak has prompted North Posey officials to cancel classes Thursday and Friday (Jan. 30 and 31).
In a release, North Posey says it’s taking the action due to the number of influenza cases affecting both students and staff.
Thursday and Friday have been designated “virtual learning days” for students at North Posey schools.
While the schools are closed, the district says they will be “thoroughly cleaned.”
The school district hopes that during the four-day break, affected students and staff will become symptom-free – and the school buildings will be sanitized.
Officials remind parents that cold and flu are most contagious during the first 48 hours.
They say students should stay home if they have symptoms including a fever of 100 degrees or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, congestion, or cough.
