Authorities have positively identified human remains found at an Evansville home.
Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear said in an email that a dental examination confirmed the identity of the victim as Evonne Marie Pullen.
Lockyear said an autopsy was completed Tuesday and the death was ruled a homicide.
A police affidavit indicates Pullen’s body had been there since September 2018.
32-year-old Angela Paul has been pre-charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, obstruction of justice, and failure to report a dead body.
Paul reportedly admitted to police that she and 56-year-old Gary Anderson of Evansville buried Pullen’s body in the detached garage in the 1000 block of N. Third Avenue.
Police said Paul and Pullen had lived at a shelter in Virginia before moving to Evansville.
The affidavit alleges Paul and her sister, Joan Paul, went back to the garage months later and poured concrete over the shallow grave.
The Paul sisters and Anderson moved out of the house in May.
Police say a tenant who moved in after that didn’t know anything about Pullen’s death.
