Another Boil Advisory Issued For Much Of West Side

Much of Evansville’s West Side is once again under a boil water advisory.

A water main ruptured over the weekend on Mt. Vernon Road just west of Tekoppel Avenue.

Crews stopped the leak and the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility issued a boil advisory for the area north of the Ohio River, south of Mill Road, west of St. Joe Ave and east of the Posey County Line.

That same area dealt with a boil advisory less than two weeks ago following a main break at the Lloyd and Red Bank Road.

The utility say the potential for contamination is unlikely but customers in the affected area should bring all tap water to a complete boil for five minutes before using it for cooking or drinking.

The utility will lift the advisory when tests confirm the water is safe to drink.
