USI Fall Enrollment Figures Released

usi.edu

Overall enrollment at the University of Southern Indiana is down for the fall semester. But, there are some bright spots in that number.

The campus at USI won’t host as many students as last year, but the population is more diverse and higher achieving than ever.

A release says that the total fall enrollment at the school is 10,734 students, which represents a 2.6% decrease from last year. Officials cite a highly competitive marketplace as one reason for the decline.

Graduate student numbers at USI are up over six percent from last year, thanks in part to more online programs.  The school has over a dozen master’s programs and two doctoral programs.

Another positive factor this fall is that the incoming freshman class at USI has the highest high school grade point average in the school’s history. USI officials also say that enrollment of minority and international students is at an all-time high.
