You can help kids return to school with the supplies they need.
The Salvation Army has launched its Stuff the Bus campaign, focusing on needy children in grades 7 through 12 in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties.
In a news release, the agency says it will collect donations of school supplies at four area Walmart stores on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The donations will be accepted at both the east and west Walmart locations in Evansville and at the Walmart stores in Boonville and Newburgh.
Teachers told the Salvation Army that they need a variety of items, including copy and notebook paper, 3-ring notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, staplers and staples, post-it notes, and earbuds.
Classes resume Wednesday in the Evansville Vanderburgh school district, as well as in Mt. Vernon, Henderson County, Owensboro, Daviess County, and North Gibson schools.
Classes start Thursday in Warrick County, North Posey, South Gibson, and East Gibson schools.
