Lloyd Lane Shifts Coming

Work on the Lloyd Expressway in Evansville will soon enter new phases.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says beginning next week, contractors will open up two lanes of traffic in both the westbound and eastbound lanes of the Pigeon Creek Bridge.

The shift is expected to reopen the on-ramp from Fulton Avenue to the westbound Lloyd, which has been closed for several weeks.

INDOT says crews will reconstruct sidewalks and continue to make repairs below the bridge deck.

The work will also require an overnight operation under the eastbound lanes.

INDOT says from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday, eastbound traffic will be diverted to St. Joe Avenue.

The work is expected to take just the one night.

The whole project is expected to wrap up this fall.

Meantime, drivers can expect lane shifts between Vann Avenue and Epworth Road.

Those shifts are expected to happen on or around Monday, July 29th.

The work on the East Lloyd is part of a concrete patching project scheduled to last until next summer.

INDOT reminds motorists to drive safely in all work zones.
