Eight men’s basketball teams have made their way to Evansville as they vie to win NCAA’s Division II Elite Eight championship. Among them is the hometown favorite, the University of Southern Indiana (USI).
The number seven-seed team practices at the Ford Center Tuesday afternoon.
"There are two types of players once you get to March," says head coach Rodney Watson. "There are tired players and there are hungry players. And the hungry players really have a chance to go on."
This is the fourth time that USI men’s basketball has made the Division II championship. The last time was in 2004.
The Screaming Eagles face number two-seed West Texas A&M in the quarterfinals 6 p.m. Wednesday.
