Heavy Trash Pick-Up Underway In Evansville

The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility's Spring Heavy Trash Pick-up is underway.

The city of Evansville says the pick-up started Monday and will run through Friday, May 31.

The semi-annual curbside service is available to city residents who pay for trash service with their water utility bill.

The city says apartment complexes, mobile home communities, and commercial customers are not eligible.

Heavy trash must be in manageable, organized piles placed next to where the normal weekly trash is collected by 6 a.m. on the day heavy trash is scheduled to be collected in your neighborhood.

You can see a map, the collection schedule, and guidelines on the city of Evansville GIS website.

Items that are accepted include carpet, furniture, appliances, and building materials.

Items that are not accepted include concrete blocks, bricks, steel poles, auto parts, hazardous materials, computers, TVs, or any trash that Republic Services picks up as part of its regular trash collection.
