A ten-year agreement guarantees that Warrick County will be home to what organizers call one of the world’s most dramatic golf tournaments.

Victoria National Golf Course will host the newly established Web.com Tour Championship. It’ll be the last event of the tour, and golfers will compete for a slice of the one-million dollar purse.

But that’s not the big prize. At stake are fifty Professional Golfers' Association cards, which allow golfers to compete on the PGA Tour.

Web.com Tour President Dan Glod said Victoria National has been one of the tour’s most difficult courses, but with fifty cards on the line, it’s only going to get harder.

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch said the championship will bring in nearly twelve million in tourism dollars annually. She said the event will continue to put the state on television screens around the world.

The new championship builds on a previous arrangement with Victoria National, which first hosted the United Leasing and Finance Championship in 2012. The new agreement is the first ten-year partnership in Web.com’s history.

Next year's event will take place over Labor Day weekend.
