Tanoos tours district, visits Evansville before primary
The Democratic candidate for the 8th District congressional seat visited Evansville Thursday.
William Tanoos and a handful of supporters braved wet, chilly weather outside the Federal Building on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Tanoos told reporters he’s been traveling the district…
"I think that grass roots, on-the-ground style of campaigning isn't just a style. It's an actual substantative way to actually get support, show people you care."
Tanoos says he’s ready to tackle issues important to Hoosiers…
"Protecting Social Security, protecting Medicare, of course, giving more access to better health care...things like that are really what people are looking for right now."
Tanoos faces incumbent Republican Larry Bucshon in Tuesday’s election.
Campaign finance records show Bucshon has outraised Tanoos by more than 4-to-1, as of September 30th.
Bucshon is a former surgeon seeking a 5th term in the U.S. House.
Tanoos is a disability attorney from Terre Haute.
