Good news for people planning to drive to the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.
INDOT’s Jason Tiller tells WNIN that the project that has restricted traffic on the Lloyd Expressway Bridge over Pigeon Creek is wrapping up…
"They are expecting that the Pigeon Creek Bridge will be finished by the time the Fall Festival begins."
Tillerman said the work had to be done in time for the festival…
"In fact, it was actually part of the contractural obligations for the contractor to have the bridge open by that time."
The Pigeon Creek Bridge has been restricted to two narrow lanes in each direction for several weeks as crews worked under the span…
"All of the work on that project was underneath the bridge, mostly making repairs to the superstructure."
Tillerman said a portion of the bridge had slipped a few inches.
The Fall Festival draws tens of thousands of people to West Franklin St. and puts heavy traffic on the bridge, which normally provides three lanes of traffic in each direction.
The Festival’s Kids Day is Sunday. The weeklong fest starts in earnest on Monday.
