The Sheriff’s Office and Scott Township firefighters responded to the crash on St. Wendell Road, between Emge and Diamond Island roads.

The sheriff’s office says the bus was southbound when it ran off the road and into a ditch while negotiating a curve on wet pavement.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office said 13 children were on the bus at the time of the accident.

One child was taken to a hospital for treatment of a leg laceration. Two children suffered bloody noses and one complained of shoulder pain.

The rest of the kids were taken to Cynthia Heights Elementary after being checked by paramedics.

The bus was able to re-enter the roadway and come to a stop.

Pursuant to EVSC policy, the bus driver bus reported for post-accident drug and alcohol testing.

Neither is believed to have been a factor in the accident.
