The facility will house numerous health professions programs for the University of Evansville, the University of Southern Indiana and the Indiana University Medical School Evansville campus. The programs will work side by side to create a transformational approach to health care and medical education.

Deaconess to build new clinic next to Stone Center

Deaconess has announced plans to build a clinic near the new medical school in Downtown Evansville.

In a news release, Deaconess Health System says the three-story clinic will be built between Locust and Walnut Streets, near the former Townsquare Media facility.

The location is also near the new Stone Family Center for Health Sciences.

Deaconess says construction will begin later this year, and is set for completion in the spring of 2020.

Deaconess CEO Shawn McCoy said the health system is glad to be part of the “exciting growth and momentum of the downtown area.”

Many services and practices offered at the current Deaconess Clinic Downtown – also near the new med school -- will relocate to the new building.

Doctor Allen White said Deaconess Clinic is eager to offer patients a “new, modern facility” with “convenient, covered parking.”
