The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky has announced that Sam Bush will perform for its opening weekend in October.

The mandolin player performed this past weekend in Owensboro at ROMP Fest, which is hosted by the museum.

Museum Executive Director Chris Joslin said in a press release that Bush’s show at ROMP proves the Kentucky-born musician is “at the top of his game.”

Joslin said Bush is a long-time supporter of the museum and, as a link between older and younger bluegrass players, is a good choice for the museum’s opening act.

Bush will play at the museum’s Woodward Theater Oct. 19, and tickets are on sale now. That weekend will be full of live music and exhibit openings to celebrate the museum’s new facility.

The $15.3 million construction will replace the old building and will feature exhibit space and a 450-seat theater.
