Scorching heat expected this weekend

The official start of summer is still a week away, but forecasters warn this weekend will be unusually hot.

Thunderstorms have moved out of the Tri-State. Next is the heat.

The National Weather Service is predicting highs in the low to mid 90’s this weekend, with heat indices of 100-to-105.

The average high temperature for this time of year is 86. The average is based on records from the last 30 years.

Experts stress staying hydrated and taking frequent breaks during outdoor activities in the heat.

A chance for thunderstorms returns to the Evansville area on Tuesday.
