Easter Seals telethon tops $1 million again

Easter Seals is celebrating a record-setting telethon. 

The 41st annual Easter Seals Telethon ended Sunday evening with a "final tote" of $1,056,943 raised for its Rehabilitation Center on Bellemeade Avenue. 

In a news release, the not-for-profit it said was the fifth year in a row the Telethon on WEHT TV raised more than $1 million. 

All proceeds will underwrite therapy for Tri-State children and adults with disabilities served by the Easter Seals Rehab Center.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke appeared on the broadcast to proclaim Sunday “Easter Seals Day” in the City of Evansville. 

Several individuals, businesses and organizations appearing on the show received Easter Seals Mayor’s Awards for their exceptional support of Tri-State children and adults with disabilities.
