A Downtown Evansville restaurant has closed its doors.

Officials at Ri Ra’s announced in a tweet that the Irish pub on Riverside Drive has closed after what officials called “12 great years in Evansville.”

In the announcement, the restaurant cited increasingly difficult trading conditions.

The officials said Ri Ra’s landlord, Tropicana Evansville, had been extremely supportive in attempts to “find a path forward” but both agreed there was no option but to close the pub.

There’s no word on a possible replacement for the restaurant in the casino complex, known as The District.

Another portion of The District adjacent to Ri Ra’s has changed hands a number of times.

Its businesses included a Jillian’s restaurant and arcade, a dance club called Boogie Nights, a country music-themed club known as Stoney’s, and a Mexican bar and grill called Chido.
