Chamber President and CEO Christy Gillenwater has submitted her resignation, after accepting the same position with the Greater Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce in Tennessee.

The local chamber’s chief communications and engagement officer, Tim Hayden, has been named interim President and CEO and will work with Gillenwater on the transition until a national search is completed and a permanent replacement selected.

Gillenwater has served as head of the Chamber for more than 4 years.

In a news release, Gillenwater said her time with the Southwest Indiana Chamber has been – quote -- “the greatest highlight and most fulfilling chapter of my career.”

Chamber Board Chairman Jim Sandgren of Old National Bank praised Gillenwater for helping establish the agency as “one of the leading chambers in the country.”

Gillenwater's start date in Chattanooga is Dec. 1st.
