USI reports rising enrollment

USI is touting an increase in freshmen and graduate students as it announces higher enrollment numbers.

 

The University of Southern Indiana says its total enrollment is up 340 students from last academic year to 11,033.

That number includes more than 2,000 high school students who are enrolled in USI’s College Achievement Program -- or CAP -- in 27 high schools across Indiana, as well as graduate students.

A news release from USI says masters and doctoral program enrollment stands at more than 1,300 – a 22.5% increase over last year.

The university also reports continued growth in freshmen –- more than 1,700 – about a 2% increase from fall 2016.

The average high school GPA for the incoming freshman class is 3.36 on a 4.0 scale.

The undergraduate enrollment is just above 8,700. That’s up more than 700 from last fall.
