A small earthquake centered in southeast Illinois shook the Tri-State Tuesday.
The Edwards County Sheriff's office reported no damage or injuries following the 3.8-magnitude quake at 6:47 a.m. Central Time.
The U.S. Geological Survey said it was centered 7 ½ miles east-northeast of Albion.
The agency says the quake caused light to moderate shaking and very light damage. The quake's preliminary depth was a little more than 7 miles.
The brief shaking was felt in Evansville, Henderson and Owensboro.
The USGS say it was felt as far away as Paducah and Terre Haute.
The quake originated in the Wabash Valley Seismic Zone.
A smaller quake hit the same area September 9th. It measured 3.1 and was centered west of Mt. Carmel.
A stronger quake shook the area April 18th, 2008. It registered 5.4, and was followed by two significant aftershocks.
