Remants of Harvey to drench Tri-State

What’s left of Hurricane Harvey is expected to dump up to six inches of rain on the Tri-State.

The rainfall totals may be a drop in the bucket compared to the record-setting deluge in Texas, but the remnants of Harvey could still cause dangerous flooding in our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for much of western Kentucky, including Owensboro and Madisonville, where up to 6 inches of rain is possible.

Forecasters say the system still has some of its wind, so they’ve issued a Lake Wind Advisory for southwest Indiana, southeast Illinois, and Henderson and Union counties in Kentucky through Friday.

The Evansville area can expect some heavy rain, a stiff breeze, and unseasonably cool temperatures.

The weather service says the mercury will stay below 70 degrees in Evansville on Friday.
