Two teens are arrested for allegedly shooting a gun at homes in Melody Hills.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of Saint George and Oak Hill roads after receiving multiple 911 calls concerning shots fired early Tuesday morning.

A news release from the sheriff’s office says deputies tracked footprints in the grass, which led to a home where several juveniles were located.

An investigation revealed that two 16-year-old boys had fired a .357 revolver into two different homes, one on Rode (ROH-dee) Road and one on Memory Lane.

Investigators say the shots penetrated the wall of one of the homes, with one bullet found in a living room cabinet.

The juveniles are believed to have selected the homes at random. There was no report of injuries.

The sheriff’s office says the two 16-year-old boys recorded themselves with a cell phone while firing the handgun at the homes.

Both boys were interviewed, arrested, and taken to the Youth Care Center pending an appearance in juvenile court.

They face preliminary charges including Criminal Recklessness, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.
