A new carousel is up and running at Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden.
The zoo opened the attraction nearly 45 years after a carousel on nearby Mesker Park Drive was sold and moved out of Evansville.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke attended Wednesday's ribbon-cutting and told WNIN it’s good to see kids making new memories.
The new Engelbrecht Carousel features replicas of 30 endangered animals.
The 2-and-a-half minute ride costs $2.
It’s open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and during special events.
