The Evansville Fire Department is seeking arson tips online.
The fire department’s website now features a page called “Submit Arson Tip,” where you can click a logo that takes you to an email page.
You can find it at evansvillegov.org.
In a news release, the department says arson hurts neighborhoods and the entire city.
Fire departments across the U.S. responded to nearly 54,000 intentional structure fires between 2005 and 2009.
They say most fires are started between 3 p.m. and midnight.
The bedroom is the most likely room where house fires are set, while bathrooms are the most common among fires in commercial buildings.
The EFD says you can still report tips anonymously on the phone by calling the arson hotline at 812-426-1938 or 812-436-4464.
You can also submit arson tips to Evansville Police.
