caslin.org

A Henderson woman has been sentenced for embezzling funds from a local church.

The former treasurer of Greater Norris Baptist Church in Henderson was sentenced Monday in federal  court in Owensboro to 21 months in prison and was ordered to pay over $200,000 in restitution.

Under a plea agreement Delanie L. Tillman will also serve three years of supervised release following her prison term.

In making the announcement, U.S. Attorney John E. Kuhn Jr. says that Tillman embezzled money from the church over a ten year period from 2004-2014. In the release, Kuhn called Tillman’s actions disgraceful as well as criminal.

The case was investigated by the Henderson Police Department and the FBI.
