Free sunscreen in Owensboro

The City of Owensboro is offering some protection from the sun.

The city has unveiled 3 new sunscreen stations at Smothers Park, Cravens Pool, and Combest Pool.

The stations – and free sunscreen -- were donated by Dr. Nicole Brey of Advanced Dermatology Associates in Owensboro.

In a news release, Brey said the goal is to help children and adults protect themselves from skin cancer.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and Brey said she’s excited to educate and share the importance of skin safety.

Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson attended the sunscreen station unveiling in Smothers Park.
