The Tri-State faces the risk of more heavy rain.

A Flash Flood Watch continues for parts of southern Illinois and southeast Missouri through Thursday.

The National Weather service says additional heavy rain may generate new flooding or aggravate existing flooding.

Evansville recorded about 6 inches of rain last weekend. Forecasters say the area could see 1-to-3 inches of new rain Wednesday night and Thursday.

There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms along with the rain, but the weather service says severe storms are not expected.

The Paducah office is asking storm spotters to report heavy rain and any new flooding issues through Thursday.
