A body found in Warrick County has been identified as that of a young Evansville woman, and authorities say they’re investigating her death as a homicide.
Police were dispatched to a parking lot next to a soccer field at the intersection of Warner and Red Brush roads at about 6:45 Monday morning.
A news release from the Warrick Sheriff’s Office says deputies found a deceased white female lying in the parking lot.
About 12 hours later, authorities identified the woman as 20-year-old as Halee Rathgeber of Evansville.
The Warrick County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy in Evansville Monday night and determined Rathgeber had been shot in the head.
Warrick County Sheriff Brett Kruse says no arrests have been made.
He urges anyone with information they believe to be pertinent to the homicide investigation to call the Sheriff’s Office at 812-897-6180.
