Authorities have identified a teenage boy found dead outside Central High School as a former student.
Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear identifies the victim as 15-year-old Roman Matthew Kellough.
Lockyear tells WNIN that Kellough was a student at Central, before leaving last month to be home schooled.
The coroner’s office has not released a cause of death, pending autopsy results.
The police liason officer at the school notified Central Dispatch that the boy’s body was found near an entrance to the building at about 7:00 this (Tues) morning.
The officer described the situation as a suicide and called for additional officers to help direct students and staff away from the scene.
Evansville Police emphasized it was safe for students and staff to enter the high school at other doors.
An investigation continues.
